Bilateral unfused coracoid process: report of a case.
نویسندگان
چکیده
The coracoid process is a part of the scapula and plays an important role in shoulder function. The present case demonstrates bilateral separation of the coracoid processes from the scapular bodies. The cause of this condition was thought to be a failure of fusion of the ossification centers of the coracoid processes with the scapular bodies. Bilateral unfused coracoid processes was identified incidentally in a patient with recurrent dislocation in the left shoulder. However, history of antecedent trauma to the coradoid region was not found. It would be important to distinguish this condition from fracture or nonunion of the coracoid process.

The Anomalous Insertion of Pectoralis Minor (Le Double Type III): A case report
Introduction: The pectoralis minor muscle originates from third to fifth ribs of the chest wall and inserts at the medial side of the coracoid process of Scapula. It contributes to the abduction of the scapulothoracic joint and downward movement of the shoulder. The diagnosis of coracoclavicular articulation was made in an elderly woman, who complained of bilateral anterior shoulder pain with impingement. This congenital pseudo-articulation is rarely symptomatic and is usually an incidental radiological finding. Surgical excision of the prominent bony projection, arising from the inferior surface of the clavicle at the level of the coracoid process, re...
متن کاملArthroscopic debridement for bilateral calcific tendinitis of the subscapularis tendons: a case report.
We report on a 36-year-old man who underwent arthroscopic debridement for bilateral calcific tendinitis of the subscapularis tendons. The patient had a positive coracoid impingement test for both shoulders. Radiology showed calcific deposits at the insertion of both subscapularis tendons, close to the lesser tuberosities and just posterior to the coracoid tips. The patient underwent sequential ...

INTRODUCTION Late diagnoses of orthopedic injuries after epileptic crisis are a matter of concern. The rarity of correlation between seizure and specific trauma incidences such as bilateral anterior shoulder dislocation, may lead to improper estimation of the patient's clinical state, wrong treatment and unpleasant complications. CASE REPORT We report a rare case of bilateral anterior shoulde...
متن کاملBilateral Coracoid Avulsion Fractures with Unilateral Anterior Instability with Glenoid Bone Loss: Use of Avulsed Fragment for Reconstruction of Glenoid
INTRODUCTION Coracoid fractures are often missed since the fracture is not visualized in a routine anteroposterior view of the shoulder and special views are not ordered. Shoulder dislocation is common but it is rare to have a dislocation with a coracoid fracture. The purpose of this paper is to present the rare occurrence of bilateral coracoid fractures in a patient with unilateral anterior sh...
